Remember ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’? A Kickstarter campaign has launched to bring it to the iPad

Few things say ’80s children’s books’ more than the Choose Your Own Adventure series. Now a Kickstarter campaign has been launched to revive it on the iPad.

Choose Your Own Adventure books were all about going to page 6 if you wanted to turn left or page 43 if you wanted to turn right, but the plan for the iPad is to launch the first in a series of interactive cartoons called Choose ‘Toons. The people behind the project, including the founder of the Choose Your Own Adventure brand, are looking to raise $130,000 to fund one 32-minute app to launch the new series.

I was more of a Fighting Fantasy boy myself (that maze in The Warlock of Firetop Mountain got me every time), but if nostalgia or a desire to entertain your kids has you intrigued, you can read more on the Kickstarter project page.
