There’s no disputing how awesome Scotland is. As pointed out by James McAvoy in Filth, it’s a nation of overachievers that has given us penicillin, the telephone, Chvrches, and the deep-fried Mars Bar. But its main export is insults. Weapons-grade insults.
Scottish insults are the best. They’re like the gold standard. I mean, have you ever called someone a “weasel-headed fucknugget” or an “absolute fucking doughnut”? Just the way it rolls of the tongue is exquisite.
In time for the national day of Scotland, St Andrew’s Day, someone has created a Scottish Insult Generator. Amusingly, all of these insults are ones that were hurled at a certain tangerine-faced President-elect by Scottish Twitter users. It’s a true masterclass in name-calling.
