    In the past week 18 UK based technology startups have been on Web Mission in Silicon Valley visiting valley based companies, networking, pitching to investors and understanding more about bringing their companies to the US market, some, with the intention of opening a US office.

    I caught up with founder of Web Mission Oli Barrett and some of the startups after their trip to visit the Twitter HQ in San Francisco.

    ScreenReach

    Screenreach Interactive is an audience engagement company whose core product is Screach. The interactive digital media platform allows users to create real-time interactive experiences for consumers though smartphones, with the potential to revolutionise digital uut of home, broadcast and advertising.

    PeerIndex

    PeerIndex gathers and analyses publicly available data to create a picture of a person’s authority and activity on a particular topic. Using this data, the platform generates a trust rating from 1 – 100, assessing people’s ‘social capital’– their relationships, authority, trust and standing by looking at their online social behaviour and offline activities.

    ParcelGenie

    ParcelGenie.com has pioneered a new genre of communication, Instant Gift Messaging, that enables real little gifts to be sent via social networks and mobile phones without needing a delivery address.

    oneDrum

    OneDrum is a simple desktop application that enables real-time document collaboration, initially for MS Office. The peer-to-peer collaboration platform provides users with the ability to share files and edit documents simultaneously without the need to save or reopen.

    Made.com

    MADE.COM brings original designs to the masses by revolutionising the furniture retail market. The site enables consumers to vote and group-buy furniture direct from factories, at a fraction of the high street price. Each product is crowdsourced before being made to order and shipped direct from the factory to the consumer, cutting out the middleman, and eliminating wastage and warehousing costs.

    Crisp

    Crisp Thinking is an online community management software. Its Community Management Platform is designed to manage communities, maintain reputations and moderate content. A unique single system solution, the Crisp Thinking platform helps companies manage and moderate all user generated content through aggregating data from online communities including comments, blogs, forum posts, images and video, across both private online communities and public social media.

    Conversocial enables brands to manage interactions and increase engagement with customers in social media. The Social Media Management System helps brands to plan updates and understand what type of content will resonate with fans and followers in Facebook and Twitter.
