Bored at work? Attend the hack.summit developers conference from your desk

If you’re bored at work (or lucky enough not to be working), maybe it’s time to head to the hack.summit developers conference. You don’t even have to leave your seat.

The conference is a virtual one (not VR), meaning you can ‘attend’ online. There’s still a fee to join-in, but all ticket sales go towards charities like code.org, Girls Who Code, Rails Girls, Women Who Code and Code Club.

“Last year we raised over $50,000 and expect to exceed that amount this year,” says Ed Roman, founder of hack.summit. “We believe in the importance of rallying our community for a great cause, and hack.summit is our way of bringing developers together.”

If you can’t afford to attend, hack.summit may let you attend for free if you share the conference on social media.

At the end of the event, there’s even a virtual hackathon with a prize pool of over $150,000.

The conference just started, and runs through the 24th.
