Boomerang for Gmail now has reminders, recurring messages and is even smarter

Boomerang for Gmail now has reminders, recurring messages and is even smarter

Boomerang for Gmail. First off, if you don’t have it,  stop reading this and go get it. Right now. There’s absolutely no other plugin that will add this level of function to your Gmail. By allowing you to not only send but also receive messages when they’re important to you, it’s made a name for itself and has slowly but surely won the hearts of many.

I got an email last night from Aye Moah, Baydin Software’s Chief of Product and she told me that Boomerang just got some great new features. Today, those features are live for everyone.

Recurring Messages – No, not for spamming others, but rather for use as a reminder to yourself or for anything that occurs regularly. Whether that’s rent reminders, board meetings or the like, you can now compose a message and set a timer for when you’d like that message to be sent again.

Notes – Previously, if you Boomeranged a message, you had to remember why. Now, with a Notes function, you can give your memory a jog instead of forcing you to guess.

Smart Menu – Baydin has done some incredible algorithm work here. By finding out when you regularly schedule messages (1 hour before, 12 hours before, etc.) you’ll now get a smart menu of choices, with your most commonly-used ones up at the top.

Recurring messages are only for Pro accounts. Pro and Personal will both get the Notes feature, and Smart Menu is being rolled out to Pro, Personal and Basic levels. When you figure that a Pro level account costs a mere $15 per month, and gets unlimited Boomerang messages it’s an absolute steal.
