Cloud storage company Bitcasa has today launched CloudFS, a dev-focused platform with key APIs for building apps that make use of public cloud storage.

The company said the platform would allow developers to “innovate faster, with lower costs” by taking care of any public cloud integration, thereby allowing more time to focus on the core functionality of the app.  The advanced API features include support for handling things like file management and file sharing, media transcoding and “zero-knowledge encryption”.

On top of that, there are nine pre-made public cloud storage applications available as part of Bitcasa’s white labelling options, which allow a business to easily rebrand the Turn-key Drive cloud service to offer to its own customers. Developers interested in any of the new options can sign up to be notified when the platform goes live – currently scheduled for “Spring/Summer 2014”.
