Career site network Beyond.com, a Safeguard Scientifics (NYSE: SFE) portfolio company, today announced that it has acquired “strategic assets of Human Capital Solutions” through a subsidiary.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, but what Beyond.com is really buying in this deal is JobCircle.com, an online job portal for employers and job seekers in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States, and its 1.3 million registered members.
Founded in 1998 and mostly known for its niche-targeted career fairs and events business, JobCircle provides its members with tools to simplify job posting and candidate search processes.
Beyond.com, which boasts more than 25 million members, argues that the acquisition enables it to expand online with virtual career fairs, and offline with live career events in several U.S. markets.
As a result of the acquisition, Joe Stubblebine, co-founder and CEO of JobCircle.com parent company Human Capital Solutions, will be joining Beyond.com as VP of Corporate Outreach.
