Barnes & Noble partners with Dixons Retail, placing NOOKs in stores ready for Christmas

Barnes & Noble partners with Dixons Retail, placing NOOKs in stores ready for Christmas

Bookseller and digital publisher Barnes & Noble is partnering with Dixons Retail, owner of the UK’s leading electrical retailers PC World and Currys.

The pairing is another step into the UK market for Barnes and Noble which recently announced partnerships with John Lewis, Argos, Blackwells and Foyles. Working with department stores and book retailers in the UK means that the company’s NOOK products will be well placed in front of a digital reading audience.

Currys and PC World will feature Barnes & Noble’s NOOK products in over 600 stores across the country and online. Shoppers will be able to find the NOOK Simple Touch and NOOK Simple Touch with GlowLight products in store from early October.

The partnership will expand the expected number of NOOK UK retail outlets to more than 1,600 in the UK and include various leading online retail platforms offering NOOK products and the company’s soon to launch online storefront, www.nook.co.uk.

Commercial terms of the partnership have not been disclosed, but the UK spread of NOOK products at this time of year certainly means that the company will be set to do battle with other gadgets as we head into the Christmas shopping season.
