Matt Mullenweg has proposed in WordPress Trac that Automattic’s Duster theme be improved upon and made the next WordPress default theme, replacing TwentyTen, according to WPCandy.
Automattic introduced TwentyTen with WordPress 3.0, selecting a name that would encourage the introduction of a new default theme each year. The previous theme, Kubrick, was the default from version 1.5 up until version 2.9 — the vast majority of WordPress’ time as a heavyweight in the online publishing space.
Duster, if Mullenweg’s proposal goes ahead, will be renamed TwentyEleven in keeping with the new default theme naming scheme.
