Apple’s day 1 pre-order stock of iPhone 4S sold out in UK, now shipping 1-2 weeks

It appears that the initial stock of pre-order iPhone 4S devices has run out in the UK, as the shipping times on Apple’s UK store have now slipped to 1-2 weeks, reports Pocket Lint.

The shipping times of Apple products are normally a good indicator of the stock on hand as it normally keeps a good tally of its inventory. The ordering screen is now showing shipping times of 1-2 weeks on all iPhone 4S models and sizes.

The site in the US is still showing October 14th so it appears that Apple has plenty in stock stateside. The Apple store site, along with AT&T, Verizon and Sprint’s pre-ordering sites, were hammered last night as iPhone enthusiasts turned out in droves to purchase the device that many analysts have claimed would not sell well.
