Apple will fix bug that causes iPhone 6s and 6s Plus to show wrong battery charge

Apple is looking into a minor issue with its iPhone 6s and 6s Plus devices that can lead to an inaccurate battery reading being displayed in the status bar.

The problem is only really likely to affect you if you’re the sort of globe-trotting iPhone owner that s forever passing through time zones, or are someone that has a strange penchant for manually setting the time and date on your phone.

Either way, if you notice that your battery percentage no longer updates, the time setting is likely the culprit.

Apple will likely roll out a fix with the next iterative update for iOS, but it says that, for now, if you’re suffering from this problem you should restart your phone and ensure that your Date & Time settings are switched to ‘Set Automatically.’

The company is advising anyone who continues to have the same problem – or who hasn’t been playing around with the time and date, but is getting the error anyway – to get in touch with Apple Support.
