Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing, posted a teaser video on X on Thursday. It shows the old rainbow Apple logo, embroidered, and sets a launch for Tuesday 13 October.
“Welcome home. October 13,” Joswiak wrote.
Apple invited the press to an “Apple Experience” in Tribeca, New York, at 9am Eastern time, or 2pm in London and 3pm in Paris, 9to5Mac reported. Apple used the same format for its MacBook Neo launch earlier this year. It has not said whether it will stream the event.
What Apple is expected to show
Apple has not said what it will launch. Bloomberg, which first reported the date last week, has more detail. Its Apple reporter Mark Gurman described the line-up on his Power On podcast on Thursday. He expects three main devices: a smart home hub with a display, a new HomePod mini with a faster chip and a new Apple TV.
Gurman said Apple first wanted to release the devices at the end of 2024.
“They’re only coming out now for a very clear reason. They’ll rely on Siri AI,” Gurman said.
Apple released Siri AI with iOS 27 last month.
Devices made with LG
Gurman also expects Apple to launch home devices made with LG. He listed a doorbell, a smart door lock, a thermostat and indoor, outdoor and floodlight cameras. A temperature sensor may come later, he said. Bloomberg first reported the LG partnership this week.
