Apple Store goes down as Apple teases ‘something special’ – possibly new iPad

Apple Store goes down as Apple teases ‘something special’ – possibly new iPad

Apple has a surprise “in store” for you. But you might have to curb your enthusiasm for a few more hours until the company is ready to lift the lid on its mysterious announcement.

The Cupertino behemoth has temporarily taken down its online store and replaced it with a short cryptic message, promising ‘something special’ is coming very soon – and apparently it “can’t wait for you to see it.”

While the vague announcement offers little details as to what this surprise could be, the dedicated System Status page indicates the online store is currently undergoing maintenance. This means the store will be unavailable for at least another few hours until 5:30 AM PT when the maintenance is scheduled to finish.

Although the Big A traditionally sets up its own special events to tease new products, it appears it hasn’t planned any for today.

As per recent rumors, Apple has purportedly been gearing up to unveil its revamped iPad lineup. The refreshed series of tablets is expected to land in four different models, including brushed-up versions of its existing 9.7-inch and 12-inch Pros, as well as a new compact 7.9-inch and a premium 10.5-inch devices.
