In news that should come as a surprise to no one, Pokemon Go has broken the record for most App Store downloads in a first week of availability.
Apple confirmed the number to Polygon, albeit without providing specifics (Polygon is waiting for an exact number from The Pokemon company).
Whatever the tally ends up being, that’s surely set to rise as the app continues its rollout in other countries; the app was only officially available in the US, Australia and New Zealand during its first week. It just rolled out to Japan today.
Good times for Nintendo.
