Apple Magic Mouse Unpack Movie: Lickable! (NSFW)

Apple Magic Mouse Unpack Movie: Lickable! (NSFW)

IMG_0653We just received our brand new Apple Magic Mouses (mice?) today. Scroll down the page (below the video) for all the unpacking action shots.

My first experience causes mixed feelings. The packaging is not as cool and beautiful as some of their other products. The Mouse is attached to the packaging with VERY sticky tape that leaves some residue after you peel it off. I know, not that big a deal but just not what we have come to expect from Apple.

The mouse itself feels good, slightly heavier than the old Apple mouse I use but not too heavy. Installing it took a little more effort than usually because Snow Leopard doesn’t have support for the mouse yet.

Scrolling up and down the page using one finger is just great. It works, as you hope it will, right away. You won’t need any practice with that.

IMG_0658Setting up and using the ‘right-click’ button is easy too. Just enable it in Mouse Settings, pick a side (left or right click) and it works. No delay, no finding the right spot. It just works.

The Swipe Left/Right to navigate is different. I don’t have a feel yet for when it pick up that I want to do that. I don’t think my fingers are flexible enough to hold the mouse AND swipe at the same time. It looks so simple in the demonstration video, but I can’t do it, yet.

I did find out another way to interact with the mouse that works very well. They say that Apple products can look so good they are almost lickable. Well, the new Magic Mouse not only looks lickable but IS actually lickable and will will respond favorable to being licked. If you do it the right way, that is:
