This past quarter for Apple has made the world really reconsider the word “recession.” Despite the depressingly low expectations for any company to be making profit right now, Apple has managed to sell more iPhones and Mac computers than ever before.
Their 4th quarter ended on September 26, 2009 with some stunning statistics to follow it up. They posted a profit of $1.67 billion with a revenue flow of $9.87 billion. This is a huge improvement ( $1.47 billion) from the same quarter last year.
Just to put this cash flow in perspective for you, Apple sold 3.05 million Macintosh computers, 10.2 million iPods (the only decline from the previous year), and 7.4 million iPhones . That’s a ton of hardware moving off of their shelves daily!
So they have overcome the recession. The new question is: “What’s next Apple?” With many expecting the mythical Apple tablet to be released early of next year, I would expect sales to spike again for Apple. At this point, the sky is the limit for the now giant company as they have overcome the worst of the recession.
