In a remarkable feat, it has to be said, Apple have announced they have reached the 500 Million download mark for iPhone applications from the appstore.
As Mashable notes, with 300 Million downloads reached on December 5th, over 200 million have been downloaded in just over 5 weeks! Other Apple services such as iTunes took almost two years to hit 500 million downloads. There are currently approximately 15,000 apps available now at the Apple App Store.
