Apple today announced it has sold its three millionth iPad yesterday, just 80 days after its introduction in the US.

Developers have also created over 11,000 new apps specifically for iPad.

On May 3rd, the worlds largest tech company reported that it had sold 1 million iPads in under a month. The company only begun selling internationally in late May.

I think it’s safe to say Apple is onto a winner and analysts who expected less are holding their head in shame. In all fairness, I’m certain Apple itself is somewhat surprised considering news of heavy shipment delays and out of stock reports. Suspect it would be more had production matched demand.
