Announcing: TNW Conference will be back in New York on December 10

Update:
Please mark down December 10th, 2014 in your calendar. We’ve come across an opportunity to deliver an even better experience for this year’s conference and decided we couldn’t let this one slip, so we’re moving the event to December. A new event date, the same promise. It’s going to be epic.

Maybe not all of you know it, but The Next Web was founded and is headquartered in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. TNW is a pan-global company with teams working from remote offices all around the world and one big unifier: the Web and our love for it.

Our fans and customers are from all around the world as well. The city with the biggest TNW readership is New York – a good reason for us to choose this great city as a home for the second edition of TNW Conference USA on December 10, 2014. We’d love to meet up with Gotham’s finest Web fans and professionals again.

Where business and cultures collide

The theme for TNW USA is “Where business and cultures collide”. The US edition of TNW Conference will discuss the latest Web technology trends and best business practices. It is the place to be for entrepreneurs and marketing professionals looking to grow internationally. We’re bringing together the world’s leading thinkers, entrepreneurs and brands to do business and share market insights.

What’s new

After our first US edition last year we’ve decided to redesign the format into a fully-packed one day Conference, offering the stage to the world’s most powerful innovators and creating room for 1,000 web professionals.

The 💜 of EU tech

The latest rumblings from the EU tech scene, a story from our wise ol' founder Boris, and some questionable AI art. It's free, every week, in your inbox. Sign up now!

The content ranges from visionary keynotes about Web technology trends, to pragmatic talks on leadership, culture, marketing and mobile strategy.

Be prepared for an unusual show with tons of insights, valuable business, new friends and ridiculous stuff you’ve never seen at a tech conference before. After all, we are the team that brought you comedy on stage and speakers serving cocktails.

Announcing the first speakers

We have the honor to welcome back one of America’s most inspiring authors, David Weinberger. David writes about the effect of the internet on ideas. He is a senior researcher at Harvard’s Berkman Center for Internet & Society, and is co-director of the Harvard Library Innovation Lab. After his brilliant talk at TNW Europe 2014, we just had to ask him back.

And who would be more qualified to talk about the rise of data science than Hilary Mason. Hilary believes technology should give us superpowers. She spends her time investigating these superpowers and building new things with data. Hilary is Data Scientist in Residence at Accel, Scientist Emeritus at Bitly, co-founder of HackNY and co-host of DataGotham.

They will both be speaking at TNW USA 2014, together with five other new speakers which we’re announcing today – you can check them out on the new Conference website.

Hope to see you in NYC.
