Amazon Mobile for iPad launches in Japan and China, lets users shop by category

Amazon Mobile for iPad launches in Japan and China, lets users shop by category

Amazon has just launched its Amazon Mobile for iPad app in Japan and China and added an option to shop by category.

In case you haven’t used the app before, Amazon Mobile is the e-commerce behemoth’s main shopping app for both iOS and Android. Unlike the iOS version, however, Amazon Mobile for Android has been available worldwide. Now, iPad is catching up, and is available in these two regions for the first time.

In addition, Amazon shares that Amazon Mobile for iPad now lets users browse products by category — Amazon calls it “Shop by Department.”

Rounding out today’s updates, both the iPad and iPhone/iPod Touch versions of Amazon Mobile have received bug fixes and performance improvements. Unfortunately for Amazon users, the app hasn’t received a visual refresh. This isn’t such a problem on the iPad as much as it is for iPhone and Android users.
