The Amazon Fire Stick, Amazon’s Chromecast rival, is now shipping for $39. The company made the device available to Amazon Prime subscribers for a knock down price $19 and opened pre-orders for everyone else at the end of last month .
New orders for the device are being filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Amazon claims the Fire Stick is its most successful device launch ever but as usual hasn’t revealed how many units its shifted.
The Fire Stick features a dual-core processor, twice as much memory as the Chromecast, MIMO Wi-Fi and a remote control. It can also be controlled by Android app with an iOS app promised soon.
