After CEO Tim Cook’s apology to Apple’s customers over the inferior nature of the Maps app this morning, the company has put its money where its mouth is with custom map recommendation sections in the iPhone and iPad App Stores.

Pocket developer Steve Streza noticed the sections this morning. You can get to them from the main page of the App Store on any Apple device or in iTunes.

Promotions on Apple’s App Store homepages can boost the sales of apps in a major way, so this is a great move by Apple and a boon to developers. If you want to see the sections, you can click on this link.
