    Recession? What recession? It’s hard to feel the worrying pinch in the whirl of New York’s tech town.

    Reuters Social Media Editor and Reuters TV’s Tech Tonic Host, Anthony De Rosa, heads into the heart of “Silicon Alley” to interview three of New York City’s most successful tech companies.

    De Rosa first interviews ZocDoc, a startup that’s tackling what may be the greatest problem of our time: healthcare. ZocDoc is one of the most structurally intelligent technologies spearheading our health care revolution. The booking platform allows patients to find nearby doctors who accept their insurance, read verified reviews written by real patients, and instantly snag an appointment with a local medical professional online. We wrote about ZocDoc last summer after it launched its free iPhone App last June.

    The second startup on De Rosa’s list is HiiDef, the creators of the Flavors.me and Goodsie. The two technology platforms are both simple, beautiful ways to create your own website (Flavors.me) or your own personal storefront (Goodsie).     The last interview on De Rosa’s tour is with LivePerson‘s CEO Robert LoCascio. In 2009, as reported by Reuters, his company was pulling in close to 90 million dollars a year. Have you ever gone to a website and seen a little chat box pop up with a message along the lines of “Hello, may I help you?” That’s LivePerson’s technology at work. The company, founded in 1995, now has more than 450 employees, with headquarters in New York City and offices in Atlanta, San Francisco and Israel. They service over 8,000 companies including Microsoft, Qwest, EarthLink, Hewlett-Packard and Verizon. Read about LoCascio’s philanthropic efforts here.
