6 Factors to Consider Before Buying a New Laptop

6 Factors to Consider Before Buying a New Laptop

With many laptop brands in the market today, finding a machine that is really ideal for your needs is never easy. Here are some simple considerations that will help you bag the right laptop for your use.

The Size

Size plays a key role. If you want a laptop that’s easy to carry around then portability is your main concern. Smaller laptops such as a notebook that has a small screen and a lightweight would be the best. More specifically, look for a laptop whose screen is at 12.5-13.3 inches in size, and a weight of up to 1.5kg.

The Screen

The quality of the screen should also be considered. The screen should be comfortable to look at. Remember today, technology is hyped and many laptops come with touch-screens. What this means is that many screens will be glossy. Glossy screens have reflections so they may not be ideal for long hour jobs. The resolutions should also come here. Full HD resolution of 1920×1080-pixel will be ideal if you want plenty of space to help you in lining up windows.

The CPU

The Central Processing Unit is basically the main thing. Today, an Intel’s Core-based CPUs is huge. Again you could double up and check Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 for the best performance and multitasking. Core i3-based notebooks, for instance, are generally found in entry-level systems.

The Review

Believe it or not, Laptop Reviews play an essential role when it comes to buying a brand new laptop. It gives you a firsthand a word from a firsthand user. With this, you are able to understand how the laptop performs and what deal breakers you could face. For instance, the Core i7-based system has been said to have so much heat coming through the laptop’s base. This is because it multitasks so much. But, it would be a concern if you intend to use the laptop on your lap.

The RAM

Apart from the CPU specs is the RAM. I have always advised my pals to go for a 4GB RAM or more. Such a system should leave you with the best performance. The more RAM you have the easier it allows for more applications to be run simultaneously. It also allows for more data to be quickly accessible by the system.

Battery Life

Many people ignore this and very few laptop reviews even talk about it. The truth is a manufacturer-quoted battery life may not be indicative of the laptop’s capacity. Battery life actually depends solely on the laptop variables such as the screen’s brightness, resolution, and the number of tasks that you run.

In case you are good at running programs that need lots of processing you will probably have a short battery life. The same applies if you love to stream lots of online videos or always transfer lots of files over your wireless network. Therefore such factors are also considerations that you should make.

Storage is also a key factor. Typically the laptop hard drives came with all sizes, but today they are mostly out of favour as we are introduced to the thin and light laptops. Getting an external storage space is cool.
