10 Web Apps to Simplify your Life

When was the last time you installed something? You know, like getting a CD and installing the software? Not as often as you thought right? Well the reason for that is Web Apps are awesome, easy to update and access.  However with all things awesome they are often buried in a room filled with everyone else. I am going to pick out a few cool Web Apps (some old and some fresh) and put them on center stage and away from the crowd.

Photoshop.com Lets us use Photoshop without paying for or downloading Adobe’s (very expensive) Photoshop software. It also comes with 2GB of memory for you to save your edited photos.

Qipit transforms photos to a PDF document. Take a photo of a whiteboard or document with your camera phone and email it to Qipit.com, it then scans your photo to a PDF document and stores it online. You can also fax images of documents from Qipit, too. Not to pretty to look at but comes in rather handy.

Speechpad transcribe your audio notes/interviews which saves hours from listening and typing them out. A real time saver this one.

Minus, Super simple way to share files. Open the browser, drop your file in and then get a URL to share the file. No one else will be able to view your content unless you give them the link. The files are hosted indefinitely, or unless you delete them.

Truveo, is a search engine from AOL. It allows you to find and play videos from all of your favorite video sites like YouTube and Blip.tv. Truveo also allows you to index clips from entertainment and news websites.

RescueTime – This program keeps track of the time you spend on your computer and are online. You don’t need to input anything. All of the time tracking is done automatically.

Zamzar allows you to convert your image and video files from one format to another. You don’t even need to download the program and it’s totally free.

Cooliris is a browser extension that makes the photos on the internet pretty, imagine browsing your Facebook photos Minority Report style. The images turned into an extensive “3D Wall.” You can easily browse thousands of images, videos, and other media quickly and easily.

BillsTrust takes the hassle out of paying bills. It lets you email or upload your bills to an online account where you can manage payment and automatically have your bills paid so they’re never late. It works for personal finances or corporate accounts.
