Nominet, the non profit .uk domain name registry, has announced over 2,800 valuable UK domains will be made available from next month.
Many of the domains (full list here in PDF) being sold include single letter and number domains but also many extremely valuable generic single word domains.
Applications are being accepted from 1st December through to the 17th January 2011 and priority will be given to those individuals and companies who have satisfactory proof of a registered trademark. Where there is more than one applicant, an auction will be held with profits going to the Nominet Trust, a charity.
To apply visit one of the following registrars (PDF) and register interest in a domain. You will also need to apply to have your IP rights validated which includes a fee. This application form for validation will not be available until the 1st December.
