Good news Family Guy fans: Fox has announced that it’s started working on a new mobile game for the popular adult-themed animated sitcom. The media giant is teaming up with TinyCo, a mobile game developer that recently closed a whopping $20m funding round.
No exact timeframe has been given for the release, but it will be some time in 2014 and will include both iOS and Android. It will also feature an ‘original’ story that draws on the show’s 200+ episode back-catalog, as well as pulling on more recent events. Players will be able to venture through the fictional town of Quahog, interacting with familiar characters en route.
Fox has an existing Family Guy app for iOS, but that one is more about serving up clips from the classic series. And there is a multi-platform game called Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse that was released in 2012, but not for mobile.
