Exclusive: Windows Live Messenger For The iPhone [Video]

Windows Live MessengerA couple of hours ago at The Next Web conference, Microsoft announced their social API known as Messenger Connect.

Microsoft also demonstrated their Messenger application for the iPhone. This will be Microsoft’s 3rd application for the iPhone platform and from the looks of it, it is pretty darn useful. The interface looks great. Some of the features of the app are:

  1. Skydrive integration: One can fetch images from Skydrive and browse the gallery using iPhone’s multi-touch gestures such as zoom and pinch.
  2. Image Editing: The app will allow you to take photographs and allow you to edit and tweak the images.
  3. Windows live News Feed Integration: The application will fetch your Windows Live news feed aggregating your contacts’ updates from various other networks such Flickr and Facebook onto your iPhone screen.

Here’s the demo shot by Tim Difford:

Tom Warren of Neowin had posted screenshots of the iPhone app sometime back.
