CNBC makes market insights more accessible, launches TV app in EMEA region

CNBC, the business and financial news channel, has launched a TV App for connected TV platforms across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

The CNBC Real-Time TV App will be free to use, and will give viewers access to content from both CNBC’s TV and online channels, via Internet TVs, set-top boxes (STB), Blu-ray players and home theatre systems. Some examples include Panasonic Viera Connect, Philips Net TV, Samsung Smart TV and Virgin Media.

Features of the TV app include:

  • Video: CNBC’s latest EMEA videos with CEOs, market analysis and investor insights
  • Real-Time Market Data: Live data from the London Stock Exchange, NYSE, NASDAQ and Deutsche Börse (further exchanges will be added in due course)
  • My Portfolio: Enables users to personalize a watch-list of up to 30 favorite stocks for easy monitoring

Justine Powell, CNBC’s Vice President of Distribution, EMEA said:

“CNBC’s Real-Time TV App is the latest tool in an unparalleled suite of digital products that makes the real-time data, news and analysis that investors care about, available to them across multiple platforms.”

The app was launched last year for Google TV, and it was made available on the LG Smart TV back in May this year. A mobile version is also available.
