Engineering solves the problem of playing darts while drunk

After all these years, someone finally invented a way to cheat at darts.

YouTuber Mark Rober fulfilled what he called a “dream to create a dartboard where you get a bullseye every time thanks to some engineering.” It’s a real-life aimbot.

The dartboard is mounted on sliders that allow it to move smoothly — with some help from small motors — across a glass panel. Six infrared cameras detect the dart’s movement and move the board automatically to catch it.

The caveat is that your initial throw has to be within the dartboard’s diameter. If you wildly fling the dart at the nearby window, the board can’t do anything to help you.

Rober created another dart that makes the board shift away, so you won’t land on the board no matter how hard you try. But if you have the chance to cheat at darts, though, why would you ever want to do the opposite?
