Judge Neil Gorsuch is currently in the process of being confirmed for a spot on the United States Supreme Court. If he eventually makes it there, he will be one of the most powerful men in the country, and will continue to shape American society long after Donald J Trump, the man who nominated him, is no longer president. In short, this is serious business.
So, obviously during his confirmation hearing, he was asked if he would rather fight 100 duck-sized horses, or one horse-sized duck.

The question came from Senator Jeff Flake (R-AZ). Or, rather, Senator Jeff Flake’s teenage son, who in turn got it from Reddit. The hypothetical question is regularly rolled out during AMAs, and has been answered by a range of celebrities and public figures.
Mercifully, much like Barack Obama did when asked the question in 2013, Gorsuch plead the fifth and chose not to answer it.
On one hand, it’s amazing to see how Reddit has transformed itself from an obscure collection of niche communities, to something that’s very visible, and almost even mainstream. But it is kinda sad to see something so important, like a supreme court hearing, being interrupted with something so trivial.
