Mercedes and Microsoft want to turn your car into an office, because driving isn’t dangerous enough

“Oh lord, won’t you buy me a Mercedes Benz with Exchange support” doesn’t quite have the same ring as the original, but that hasn’t stopped the iconic German car manufacturer and Microsoft. They’re currently working on a new project called “In Car Office”, which will allow you to accomplish work-related duties while doing the morning commute.

In Car Office will let you integrate your calendar, to-do list, and contacts with your car’s navigation facility. So, if you’ve got an important meeting, it can get the address straight from your Exchange calendar. It will also show you popups when you’ve got an upcoming meeting, allowing you to call the participants from the in-car voice system.

These are all far safer than awkwardly fumbling with your smartphone while hurtling down the interstate at 70 miles per hour. But you know what’s safer still? Doing all this shit before you set off.
