Roku just added the one thing that made me stop using it: Amazon Instant Video

The first streaming device that ever really ‘stuck’ with me was a Roku 3.

It was lag-free and provided a world of on-demand content at my fingertips, but there was one thing missing: it didn’t support Amazon Instant Video.

As a subscriber to both Prime and Netflix, that was always pretty annoying. Eventually, it was enough to make me stop using my Roku altogether, and switch to Amazon’s Fire TV, as that supports both.

Now, however, Roku finally supports Amazon Prime streaming in the UK, just as it already did in the US.

That might seem like a small difference, but the convenience of having both services available on one device ultimately won out over my preference for Roku’s UI, Search and Follow features.
