Amazon has launched a new sales program aimed at helping startups bring products to market.
Introduced today, Launchpad promises to help small companies with marketing and onboarding, while leveraging Amazon’s huge customer base and network of fulfillment centers.
The lure for startups is reduced cost of getting a product in front of potential customers, by using Amazon’s retail channels and infrastructure.
The program provides custom product pages, which are designed to let founders interact with customers directly in a Q&A format, and access to Amazon marking tools like merchandised placements, personalized recommendations, Vine customer reviews and Amazon Prime delivery options.
Amazon says it’ll also help companies expand beyond the US into 10 Amazon marketplaces around the world, thereby making the global expansion of a product a far less daunting prospect for a small outfit.
