Sony employees and their families threatened by GOP hackers via email

The hackers calling themselves #GOP have struck again, this time sending threatening emails to Sony Pictures Entertainment employees.

Variety obtained a copy of an email sent by the GOP group to Sony employees. In it, the group threatens both employees and their families. Sony told Variety that it is aware of the situation and is working with law enforcement.

Here is a portion of the email that calls for employees to sign their names via an email address or “suffer damage:”

Many things beyond imagination will happen at many places of the world. Our agents find themselves act in necessary places. Please sign your name to object the false of the company at the email address below if you don’t want to suffer damage. If you don’t, not only you but your family will be in danger.

On November 24, Sony Entertainment’s computer system was hacked with employee computers displaying a splash screen from a group calling itself GOP.
