Password management service PasswordBox has acquired digital legacy solution Legacy Locker, presumably using some of the $6 million it recently raised. The deal will keep Legacy Locker online for 60 more days and helps PasswordBox become more integrated with its users’ lives from when they’re alive until ‘the end’.
In an email to customers, Legacy Locker says that PasswordBox is offering a free lifetime subscription to its users who create an account before January 20, 2014. Afterwards, all data on its servers will be “securely destroyed”.
Started by Dijit CEO Jeremy Toeman and its Vice President of Business Development Adam Burg back in 2009, Legacy Locker is a storage area for your online credentials that can be passed along to a loved one should a user pass away. It was a completely bootstrapped company and competed against the likes of MyWonderfulLife.
