Tungle.me was always one of those concepts that I found intriguing. The Web-based app would let people schedule meetings with you, in blocks of time that you had pre-set. The company was acquired by Research in Motion in 2011 and went to work on the BlackBerry Playbook Calendar app. Today CEO Marc Gingras reports that Tungle.me is shutting down its operations:
“All of our new responsibilities within RIM are very exciting; however, it hasn’t left much time for innovation on the core Tungle product over the past year, as we’re sure you have noticed. To make the most of our new focus, we have sadly decided it is time to shut down the standalone Tungle service.”
The site will remain running but the standalone service will shutter as of December 3rd.
