San Francisco-based startup Grow Mobile, which is still in stealth mode but is billed as a mobile marketing and ROI data management company, has raised $1 million in equity and debt funding according to a regulatory filing.
Grow Mobile is building a revolutionary mobile marketing solution that uses ROI based mathematical technology. We are currently working with a closed group of Beta customers.
Grow Mobile is building technology for mobile ad buying across a large number of ad networks with ROI analytics transparency reporting for better optimization and ad budget scale.
What makes the funding round more noteworthy is the trio of co-founders behind the venture. Serving as Grow Mobile’s president is Austin James (A.J.) Yeakel, who previously led Zynga’s mobile marketing and advertising revenue initiatives.
The CEO is Brendan Lyall, who previously served in a similar capacity at Zynga rival Storm8 and Adknowledge before that. Grow Mobile’s third co-founder and chief architect is Minglei Xu, who previously co-founded Wild Needle, the mobile social games studio that was acquired by Zynga in May 2012.
According to the company’s LinkedIn profile, its backers are Bessemer Ventures and Signia Ventures, the VC firm co-founded by Playdom, Adify and FlyCast Communications co-founder Rick Thompson.
Thompson is also listed on the SEC filing, by the way.
