Brightstar buys to up its e-commerce game, rebrands it as Consensus

Global wireless services company Brightstar this morning announced that it has acquired San Francisco-based, an independent resource and e-commerce solutions provider for wireless products and services.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

According to its website, was founded in late 1999 and raised $21.5 million in venture funding to date.

Brightstar argues that the purchase of boosts its ability to connect and activate products, across any channel, for wireless operators and retailers worldwide.

The company says it has over 100,000 such customers in more than 100 countries – Brightstar partners with manufacturers like Apple, Dell, LG, Acer, Facebook, Nokia and HTC as well as big retailers like Best Buy, Amazon, Target, Costco and operators such as BT, T-Mobile, AT&T, Telefonica and many more.

For its part, provides activation services to most major US carriers and delivers e-commerce services to retailers and manufacturers. The company also operates white-label websites for retailers offering connected products to consumers.

In connection with the deal, LetsTalk will be rebranded as ‘Consensus’ and former Brightstar CTO David Stritzinger will be appointed president.
