Android Nougat almost certainly arrives on August 22

Android should-have-been-Nutella will almost definitely arrive on August 22. We already knew it would arrive in August, and there are two big clues pointing to that specific release date.

Android Central points to Canadian operator flat-out listing an ‘Android N Update’ for the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X on that date.

Furthermore, LG – which is launching the first new phone to run Nougat on September 6 – is also letting Korean testers take the OS for a run on the G5 starting August 22. Given LG wouldn’t be releasing this before Google’s own builds, all signs point to a launch next week.

To be clear, the August 22 update will likely just be for Nexus phones. If you’re really impatient, you can just download the betas, which are on the final public builds, but it looks like you won’t have to wait long for the real deal.

Now if we could only get some news on the new Nexus phones.
