Google announced today that it’s taking its Expeditions project to schools across the US, UK, Australia and Brazil, giving them all the chance to go on virtual field trips using Google’s Cardboard VR headset.
The company is calling this project the Expeditions Pioneer Program as it aims to promote the use of VR in the classroom.

Each VR kit contains Cardboard VR headsets and ASUS phones with an accompanying app for both teachers and students to collaborate and control the trip on.
According to The New York Times, the company hasn’t ruled out charging for the kits in the future, but for now, it remains free.
