Google shares sneak peek of Material Design applied to Chrome OS

Today, Google’s François Beaufort dropped a screenshot of a new Material Design-inspired first draft of Chrome OS on Google+. Like Android L, the Chromium OS screenshot is all about the flat design aesthetic.

First noticed by 9to5Google, the screengrab is a collection of browser windows showing off window management. While these are noted to be “experiments” by Beaufort, its an interesting look into what could be the next version of Chrome OS. Codenamed, Athena, you can download the source code and try it out yourself via the Chromium OS pre-release builds.
