Someone put Harambe in Street Fighter so you can keep your genitals in your pants

Someone put Harambe in Street Fighter so you can keep your genitals in your pants

If #DicksOutForHarambe isn’t your thing, maybe you’d prefer to pay tribute to the fallen gorilla with some fisticuffs and magic.

Harambe vs Capcom is a real video game that features everyone’s favorite gorilla, insane special moves and a touch of storyline to round off the rough edges.

Harambe, if you’ve been hiding under a rock for the past several months, was the 17-year-old Western lowland gorilla shot by a Cincinnati zookeeper after a three-year-old boy climbed into his enclosure. Fearing for the boy’s safety, the zookeepers decided to kill the gorilla.

Since then we’ve seen a number of Harambe tributes, but none as touching as making him a playable character in Street Fighter. In the game, a seedy agency wants to snuff out him out due to his newfound psychic powers. The gorilla protagonist needs to find Ryu to help him escape the agency while throwing down against some of your favorite Street Fighter characters.

During his primate vision question, Harambe “uncovers the true motive behind his assassination attempt.” Think Jason Bourne, but hairier and without a hashtag that prompts you to expose your genitals.

The fan-made game is just one of a handful that played tribute to classic franchises over the last few weeks. Let’s hope it has better luck than the others when it comes to avoiding the dreaded cease and desist letter.
