Microsoft has released its first major firmware update to the Band fitness tracker, adding a dozen new guided workouts to the device.
The update brings a collection of 12 strength training exercises for all skill ranges from fitness author Mark Rippetoe, and four new workout plans that range between two and three weeks each. Intermediate and advanced fitness users can take on new challenges that incorporate common exercise equipment, such as kettlebells, dumbbells, plyometric boxes and jump rope.
To enable the new feature, users will need to first update the Microsoft Health app on their mobile device (Windows Phone/Android/iOS), then install a new Band firmware update.
Microsoft launched the Band, its first fitness wearable, last October. The company says that it will update the Band many more times this year to add new features and content to the device.
