Nokia’s devices business may be being bought over by Microsoft, but this doesn’t mean its hardware manufacturing has slowed down. The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has passed a Nokia tablet that is expected to run on the Windows operating system, Engadget reports, confirming earlier rumors that Nokia is making a Windows RT tablet.
The device, known as the Rx-114, supports LTE bands 2, 4, 5, 13 and 17, as well as the HSPA+ and GSM/EDGE frequencies — which means it should work on the three major US carriers AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile.
Given that Nokia World will be held in Abu Dhabi on October 22, it is likely that the tablet may surface then.
