Breaking into Facebook’s UK headquarters is too damn easy

Facebook earns something like $7 billion each quarter. How much of that is spent on securing its offices? Clearly not enough, as the above video demonstrates.

By exploiting an unlocked side-entrance, Trikkstar – a London-based YouTube personality who looks a bit like Max Headroom’s disappointing son – broke into the UK headquarters of Facebook.

Once inside, he evaded security, ate some free food, and played a game of pool.

As Trikkstar broke in during the nighttime, the office was largely empty, and he was able to wander freely without being confronted by a staffer. Although his video does show him being followed by security once he left the premises.

Honestly, I don’t get the appeal of breaking into an office. I mean, I understand that it’s Facebook, and therefore a little bit different to a law office, or a company that sells pencils.

But at the end of the day, no matter how gilded it is and how many distractions it boasts, it’s still a place where people spend their limited time on this planet working, instead of doing other, more fulfilling things.

For what it’s worth, this isn’t the first time Trikkstar has successfully tested the security of high-profile office buildings. Earlier this month, he broke into BBC Broadcasting House, and gained access to a TV studio.

We’ve reached out to Facebook, and will update this post if we hear back from them.
