Squarespace launches two new pricing tiers for its splash page and e-commerce customers

It’s been a while since we’ve seen Squarespace significantly update its e-commerce platform – but today, all that changes. The online website builder is launching some new Squarespace Commerce features such as abandoned checkout recovery, commerce metrics and real-time shipping estimates.

The updates are designed to help current Squarespace customers who’ve started their small businesses with its service stick around rather than move over to platforms like Shopify or Etsy to expand their online stores, Squarespace CEO Anthony Casalena tells us.

Commerce customers can also use the accompany mobile apps to keep track of sales and shipments, though the Android and iOS apps are currently still in beta.

In addition to new Squarespace Commerce features, the site introduced a new budget pricing tier for its ‘Cover Page’ splash site builder.

For those who don’t need multiple sections for their landing page, the new option allows members to create a basic splash for their bio, event, or product in a single page. Standard website building tools, such as templates, curated fonts and mobile optimization are included with the budget tier.

The new payment tiers are available today on Squarespace starting at $3 a month and $26 a month (for single Cover Page and Commerce respectively) when subscribed annually. Squarespace Commerce stores will work wherever Stripe payments are accepted.
