Devs can now publish HTML5 apps to Amazon’s Fire TV and Fire TV Stick

Amazon has today announced that developers can now start publishing HTML5 apps to Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Sticks via the company’s existing HTML5 developer tools.

As well as adding support for publishing Web apps to more devices (developers could already publish to Amazon’s Fire tablets and Fire Phone), the company has extended the reach of some of the options. For example, apps can now support analog input from the Amazon Fire TV Game Controller and fully support the remotes for the Fire TV and Stick. More crucially, developers can now access Amazon’s In-App Purchase API, opening the door to micro-payments.
