Griddle.it is a nifty web app that dynamically generates a grid image for use in development stylesheets as a background image.
Grid bookmarklets are a popular option for web designers, but they can be a hassle. They disappear on each reload, often requiring you to re-input parameters each time. With Griddle.it, you specify the grid’s dimensions once in the URL, make it the body element’s background image and you’re good to go — the precise grid you need, visible every time you reload.
Apps that generate images for use in the web design process are springing up all over the place. A few weeks ago we covered Placekitten, which returns placeholder images with dimensions based on the image URL you specify.
