1Password for Mac is now smarter and better at importing data from other services

An update to 1Password for Mac (an app everyone should be using because it’s awesome) introduces better data transfer when you switch from another service and better intelligence for website visits.

1Password’s brain — which tries to remember what websites you visit so it can suggest passwords — is a bit brighter with the update to version 6.2. It can now identify more websites you visit, and tries to save new logins with an appropriate title.

Elsewhere, migrating from another password storage provider like LastPass is much easier with 1Password. You can either sync the data, or use a one-time import tool (we suggest sync).

If you use 1Password mini, you may notice it’s faster. The Chrome extension also works with multiple active profiles, and if you’re setting up 1Password for Mac for the first time — you can restore data from the iOS app using iCloud sync.
